The kidney makes urine by filtering wastes and extra H20 from blood. Kidney stones are formed when certain substances in urine crystallize. Small stones are able to pass out of the body in urine and may go unnoticed by you. Larger stones irritate the ureter and block the flow of urine causing severe pain.

  • Acute pain in the flanks radiating towards urethra
  • Fever and chills (sometimes)
  • Nausea
  • Pain or burning sensation while passing urine

  • Drink watermelon juice, coconut water one to two glasses a day
  • Have one tablespoon of ghee hourly during a kidney stone attack till the pain subsides
  • Warm soup of Kulith (horse gram) to be drunk regularly for few days
